Default Please help with assessing damages.

Hi, I am the owner of a red 1992 SC400.
I got into an accident recently, which has damaged the passenger side of the car.
The door is dented, and the rocker panel is dented, the window is also shattered.
The car drives and sounds normal.

Oh man that sucks. I am pretty sure if it was up to an insurance company they would total it.

Probably looking at replacing side skirt, door shell and glass, and whatever it costs to have the quarter panel fixed.

My SC has a dent just below the passenger handle, still works and everything, but just horribly ugly. I was looking at buying a door shell off ebay and at the time I was looking that was ~250-350 bucks by itself.

Highly unlikely there was any damage to the frame.

Sorry about your SC man I hate to see cars like these damaged, too bad the SC is so expensive to repair, I would probably be driving mine already if it wasn't so expensive.
I didn't bother contacting my insurance company, it would just raise my premiums.
I think replacing the rocker panel will be the hardest part because it appears to be welded to the frame which is why i'm afraid there may be some frame damage.

if you do the work your self, it will be a lot cheaper but having someone to do it will cost more then just getting a shell

I wish I could do it myself, but I really have no idea where to start.
I have no idea how to remove the door because its been jammed in from the hit and I cant even open it. The rocker panels also seem to be welded to something. I don't have the tools for the job.

How much do you think it will cost at a repair shop? How long do you think it could take?

if you can get that door off, replacing it isn't hard, theres only 4 bolts holding the door to the hinge, find an SC in a junk yard and take that door with the hinge, hinge will probably be a little damaged, if you hit the tree only with your door it shouldn't be too badly damaged and the door should open eventually with some play. just keep trying and do it yourself, it's really not that hard. good luck though, would hate to see another SC leaving the road
