Default 1JZ R154 Bellhousing question

Hey guys. So I'm piecing together my R154 for my SC300 NA 2JZ. I got an R154 from an 7MGTE. I removed the bellhousing and fork support from the 7M and tried to install it on my 1JZ/2JZ R154 bellhousing but I noticed a problem.

If you see the pictures, I've circled in RED the small bump that comes up on the (black) 1JZ/2JZ bellhousing between the fork support screws which did not allow the fork support to sit flat on the housing. The last picture shows a 1JZ/2JZ bellhousing but doesn't have the little bump on it. WTFunk!
Now I'm wondering if the fork support is different from the 7M bellhousing than the one that goes on the 1jz/2jz bellhousing. But I've compared other 1jz/2jz bellhousings and mine seems different:

hy, the fork and the mount for this are the same parts in the 7M or 1JZ bellhouse.

can you not drill the bump self in the new housing?

Thanks for the quick reply. Well, aside from this weird bump on the fork support area, the bellhousing fits the trans and block perfectly.
I was thinking I would grind that bump flat somehow so the fork support would sit flush on the bellhousing.

I think those bellhousings are not the same, the front where it connects to the motor look different, one has cut outs in the aluminum, one is flat.

Yep, I noticed it also but it doesn't affect fitment to the block at all. It does have all proper bolt and dowel pin locations so it fit just right.

And you have the fork suppoort and it won't bolt on, maybe there is a recess in the back of it? I dunno cause I have never seen one just trying to help diagnose. does the hump there look added like a weld or is it cast part of the bellhousing. I am sure someone will chime in on it that has used it before, so many are running the r154.

There are R-series bellhousings that fit both a V6 truck engine and a rare turbo-4 truck engine for both the R150/F and R151/F transmissions, respectively. You could have one of those bell housings in the pictures. This is how some Tacoma and 4Runner owners put 2JZGTE's or 1JZGTE's behind their 4WD transmissions.

For that end of the transmission, when I got my totally stock MKIII (7MGTE) R154 all I did was swap over the new 1JZ-R154 bellhousing. I did have to take out the fork assembly partially in order to get the old clutch disc off but it went back in just the same as before.

There shouldn't be any major differences at that point.

Its not one of those I can see both of them have the JZ pattern and they are for the 1JZ R154 because of the push type of slave cylinder setup. All the pickups with R series use the pull arrangement so the slave cylinder area looks completely different, it does not poke throught the back it is bolted on the side facing the other way. The 22rte R151f may be a push pattern but I doubt it, more importantly though its not a 22rte R151f bellhousing because the starter would be on the other side then as I have a 22R and the starter is on the passenger side.

Here's a better picture of what I'm talking about:
See the "bump" on the housing doesn't allow the fork support to sit flush and the fork bolts seem to be way to short to bolt on this way.

I would guess grind it down or use some washers on the bolt holes to even it out, but I am not sure if its supposed to be there or not.

That doesn't look like a Toyota casting. So you bought a Chinese knock off and you're having issues?

It's not Toyota, which is why it's painted black to cover up the bad work. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who didn't opt for the Toyota housing. So, I know others have run into this problem as well.

I have heard of these knockoff 1JZ-R154 bellhousings but I've never seen one. Sorry to hear this :/

The Toyota housings are still around for now.
