Alot of people use the RPS max and the stage 2 for drifting it seems.
I have a used RPS max stage 2 pressure plate sitting around with a worn 6 puck, and I was thinking of throwing that in with a full face street disc and junking the 6 puck, but I am not sure how stiff the RPS max 2 pressure plate is compared to the act extreme one I have in there now with a act 6 puck.
Ideally I want the full face disc with something that will a PP that will clamp greater than stock but less than act extreme crank walk style.

Also on a sidenote, I found that the 5vzfe pressure plate is the exact same pattern as a W58 which was odd to me as its meant for a R150f series transmission but those trucks use the R series in a Pull pattern like the W58 bellhousing with the slave facing the rear, instead of the R154 push pattern where the slave faces the front.
The 5VZ clutch disc is too large of a diameter for the stock w58 flywheel, but I am thinking 3.4L stock PP with a upgraded full face street disc, and maybe it will stay soft enough for my liking and still hold more power than a sc300 PP with upgraded disc. The 5vz pressure plate is exactly the same size of the w58 one but I am sure it has to have more clamping load from factory being its behind a 3.4. am I onto something or should I just use the RPS max PP, or even keep my act extreme one and try the full face.. I will let you guys know which one I choose I am leaning towards the 3.4L PP because its a toyota part. I am only around 400hp so it should be a good test.

Edit** I looked up online its saying RPS PP is 60% increased clamping and Act extreme is pretty similar at 63%. I did read reviews where people like it with a full face disk so I am thinking I may leave the PP along and try the new disc but that 5vz PP I am very curious about.

So the consensus is RPS or Southbend for about 400ft-lbs?

For my R154 I'm looking into what disc would work with an OEM 7M-GTE pressure plate (or barring the OEM PP a complete replacement combination set) in organic full-face that will support about that much torque @ around 350whp-380whp. Perfect would be a twin-clutch setup but I think it's overkill for that horsepower

I might make the change sooner rather than later depending on how my OEM 7M-GTE clutch+PP feel through this year. I'm not entirely happy with how they feel against my NA engine even though they are rated for more torque than it puts out. Best to future-proof sooner, methinks.

Again, I ran the oem PP with a sprung 6-puck disc at 400ft/lbs(at the wheels) just fine. I was recommended that setup by others as a cheap option, so it's obviouslly worked for more than just me. Much more over 400ft/lbs though tread lightly.

^^ Thanks Halon. I'm not a fan of puck discs, personally as I DD my car and live in hilly areas. I'm okay with going above the cheapest option. It's the twin-plate clutch kits that blow my mind on cost, even though they're supposedly the kindest to the R154 and the rear crank bearing.

The R154 stock pressure plate seems to hold more power than the w58 one, so you can probably just choose a good full face disc.

for the w58 I want to get rid of my 6 puck I cannot stand it anymore but I still want to hold decent power still, so I think I am going to keep the extreme pressure plate and just see how it feels with the full face disc. also going to remove that spring on the pedal and see if it feels any better also, don't want my pedal to break like in that other thread.

Not really sure why its there, gives it that stiff luxury feel? probably helps the pedal return faster?
combine that stiffness of the spring with a stiff pressure plate and its just plain a workout.
I didn't know about removing it till I saw that thread recently with the broken clutch pedal.
apparently the spring puts tension on the pedal and eventually the pedal can snap, as shown in that thread.
I think I will take it off as a test and if it prevents my pedal from snapping that is great, if it makes the clutch feel a little softer or at least on my leg that will be great also, will report back possibly with some pictures when I do it.

Thanks Ali. This is what I'm going to try. I'm very happy with the pedal feel of the 7M R154 pressure plate.

Don't buy it. I'm on my third and last one. I use to recommend them due to excellent pedal feel. But lack of lasting and quality issues is changing that. This last failure was the last straw and left me stranded. Clutch locked up. I don't drive hard. I cruise with a little throttle here and there. I put less than a thousand miles a year on this car. Pfft.

I'm done with em. Trying RPS Max this time.
