Default HELP SC400 Starting issue

I have a 92 SC400 that is turning over but not starting only here and there. I had it towed over the weekend to have the dealership tell me it was a bad battery contact and then it failed to start again, another shop ran diagnostics and says it is a bad starter motor? I looked up the cost of replacing and am praying it may be something else. The engine turns over and the belts turn but it just won't fire up. I removed the battery cables and put them back on and the car fired up but failed to start again later in the day. I keep getting mixed information and have already taken the vehicle to 2 shops, haven't heard the infamous starter click either...Any suggestions?

Look into getting your ECU rebuilt.

I paid 150$ and this solved my starting issue. I also have a 92 SC400 and I had to get mine towed as well.

I also bought new battery terminals.

If you flip the key to the ON position, this is the position right before you initiate the starter, does a Check Engine Light illuminate on the dashboard?

If not, this is a result of your ECU having leaking capacitors and causing your vehicle not to start.

I had all of your symptoms you have stated. I also replaced my starter switch.

Or it's a result of a burnt out bulb in the cluster...
