Talking 1992 sc300 ecu

So I replaced my ecu out of my 1992 sc300 with a 1993 sc300 but it would not start. Would could be the problem? I put my old one back in and it would crank. Also their is a little metal loop in the back of the ecu box that i did not hook when plugging in ecu. does that matter??

Yes it does. The ecu has to have the exact numbers on them. I believe they all start with 89661- and from there the numbers change. Each pin in the ecu is different for different year sc's.

this is false. All Ecu's are compatible for the same models between 92-94, only 95's are compatible with 95's, 96-98's are compatible with each other, and 99+'s are.
