pcv valve
I want to replace pcv valve and the plastic part broke from age felt under cover. Do you guys thing the plastic will cause problem or i can leave it alon or do I have to take air intake and the valve cover to remove. I bought pcv valve from pepboys and it did not fit . Can someone provide Toyota parts list for pcv vavle and new grommet.

I'm going to assume that it will cause a problem, but I'm not a professional mechanic. The same thing occurred to me but was fortunate to have long needle nose pliers that allowed me to reach the part that fell in. Try a shop vac if you can't reach with pliers. As for the part number you should look it up at "sewell Lexus.com" they have all the diagrams and part numbers you will need to get the correct parts. Good luck!

its a good idea to try and get anything dropped in engine bay. it sucks dropping something and not hear it hit the floor. it can jam something or being plastic it can melt. even leaves can start a fire and they do, especially when soaked in oil and powersteering fluid.
you can get it all at toyota or lexus.
x1 12204A = 9048018001 GROMMET (FOR VENTILATION SYSTEM) $5.26
x2 12261A = 9046714001 CLIP OR CLAMP (FOR VENTILATION HOSE) $0.92
x1 12262 = 1226246010 HOSE, VENTILATION, NO.2 $15.65
x2 12262A = 9046718003 CLIP (FOR VENTILATION HOSE NO.2) $1.01

The old grommet broke on me as well, since it was rubber I used those little mini picks to stab it and bring it up to the whole, then an angled mini pick to help get it out, was a 10 minute process. Autozone sells the grommet, and I got the PCV valve off amazon for cheap.

there is a baffle in there that should catch it and prevent it from touching the cams or important parts, but being in there will cause a little restriction and it will probably break down further over the years and eventually make its way through the engine. probably won't be disastrous but you never know. I have also used needle nose pliers and about 10-15 minutes you can pick out the pieces that fell in. I have done it both that way and removing the valve cover and baffle, fishing it out is the way to go if you can.

Yea I tried to get it out when it fell. I got it to the hole but that's it. It was so brittle it kept getting smaller and harder to reach . I'm not too worried cause I leak alittle oil at the valves so I'm gonna rebuild anyway I'm over200k but if something does happen cause of it ill let you know.
