Default 1jzgte sc300 swap question, swap experts come!

i tried searching but couldn't find a trustworthy answer, if its somewhere in the forum i apologize

im planning my 1jz soarer swap in my 92 sc real soon and i have done research for majority of the swap but there is still some things in my mind that i want clear up, here they are

.Is a fuel pump MANDATORY when swapping in a 1J? the motor will remain stock except for a intake 3" front mount intercooler and a 3" exhaust from the stock downpipe back, on stock boost.

i have read that it does help with a bigger fuel pump, and some people hit fuel cut, is this true?
i dont want to encounter any issues with the swap so i wana be sure i do thing right the first time

,im keeping the swap automatic and im certain that the tranny oil lines up, but is the stock sc300 radiator/tranny oil cooler "OK" to run with the swap with the mods listed above?

.Are NEW motor mounts also needed? ive heard the stock mounts that come on the 1jz are completely trashed and not usable ? do i need to use 1j/2j TT mounts? or will GE motor mounts work?

lmk guys!

thanks!

Use mounts if they're in good condition. My stock ones were trashed. I used 3 hockey pucks on each side.

Get a walbro 255

Get an aftermarket trans cooler for your gte swap. Use only Toyota tIV fluid.

Fuel cut is not a fuel pump issue it is when the stock computer recognizes to much boost =fuel cut
No matter how much fuel pump you have or pumps!!!

GTE mounts should work . Stock radiator is fine. Throw the walbro in before you even buy the motor, its a wise upgrade.

ok the car will remain stock for a GOOD while
only mods will be 3" exhaust and front mount, and a intake on stock boost

ima keep the stock radiator/oil trans cooler for now, later down the road i plan on a aluminum radiator and Trans cooler.

i was planning on the walbro when i go single and turn up the boost and get tuned.

ima do a little more looking, but GE mounts wont work with a 1jzgte motor correct?

and will the stock fuel pump be enough for the following mods listed above? i really dont wana swap it out unless its a MUST for the car to run.

thanks for the input so far

I wouldn't push it on a stock fuel pump, but I wouldn't get a noisy *** walbro either. Get a stealth or a TT denso unless you are already deaf. I'm not sure you will be able to run stock boost with the open exhaust and front mount, so just be ready for it to creep up a bit on its own. I don't know much about the A340, so I'll leave that one for the experts.

If you daily the car or drive it hard a trans cooler external from the radiator is a great investment and they're fairly cheap. Use Toyota tIV fluid.

2jz Gte mounts i felt were a little taller. I didnt notice much difference. GE has fluid in them from what i saw when i pulled my 2jz out. GTE i dont know, i think both would work, but since i only tested 2jzGTE mounts i say gte mounts work. Also i heard many people complain about noisy walbro but i have never heard the pump myself ever since i put it in, so i dont know what really people talk about. I have heard walbro loud as **** in my friends cars but for some reason its really quiet in mine. So i dont know if its the SC or its just the pump itself?

I used the stock fuel pump for 3 months with everything stock (only with 3inch exhaust), Car ran good, AFR is OK but swapped fuel pump after I went single.

I used TT motor mounts.

My twins only lasted three weeks and taking the twins off was a pain in the ***. If your budget allows I would just swap to single when you have the engine out.

The trannys are similar but the GTE A340's have an extra clutch pack so they can handle the extra power.

yeah I have run 11 psi on the stock pump for a while, but upgraded it to be safe. at stock boost levels you should be alright temporarily, but with a few mods and raised boost I would def change it before getting on it.
