one wire is all black the other is black with a white stripe. again i did this on my 400 not sure if 300 is the same.

His car is cranking, it just won't turn over.

Like I said, double check our work. Guarantee its something really simple.

Hmmm I remember reading the auto shifter needs to be in park when removed.

Whoever wrote that for you to read is a retard. The auto shifter moves a linkage. That linkage is connected to a switch. That switch has a plug. That plug is the one you jumped pins on to get your car started. Those two pins you connected have continuity when you are in park or neutral only. So where the old shifter is, is irrelevant. You're bypassing that with the jumper.

By the way, lose the jumper wire and clip/solder/heat shrink or you're asking for trouble. I told this to someone the other day, who bought a car that was 5spd swapped and said he'll get to it later. That night the jumper fell out, and he had to have whataburger patrons push his car so he could start it.

Ooooh good to know. That jumper was just to start the car. I Ran the wires to the clutch switch. Hoping to test drive the car tomorrow.
