GS Transmission to SC300 both with inline six cylinder engine
First of all, I'm very excited to be a new member of this club and would appreciate anyone's honest thoughts and opinions. Currently, I have 3 Lexus's. My question to anyone that can answer this is this....I transferred the transmission from a GS model with a six cylinder inline engine to my SC300 and all the bolts and sizes matched up during installment. My mechanic indicated that the wiring harness was different however he was able to make it work. While it worked for a time, after taking the car to a Lexus dealership it stopped shifting properly. So, I am now encountering problems with the transmission. Is there a compatibility issue or is there something that needs to be adjusted to the transmission? Any help would be appreciated and I thank you very much.

Moved to the proper forum.
You will have to remove the tranny and investigate the problem. What exactly is not shifting correctly? At certain temperatures, RPM's, etc.. More info please.

Welcome to the forum, and please use the performance section for posting engine and transmission related issues and not the main section. I am moving this thread there you can find the sub forum at the top.
*Edit* man 1jzpwrd you are fast it was moved before I even finished my response.. lol.
The years of your cars would probably help alot, but it the SC and GS are from the same generation, then they basically have the same transmission. The connectors can probably vary but maybe not even that. your shifting problem is probably something gone bad like something in the trans itself or even an engine sensor like the tps going bad can cause the car not to shift properly, there aren't really any compatibility issues between the same generation especially if the GS trans was working in the SC, even if it was just for a while.
