Default 92 SC400 seems like I lost 1/2 engine

All of a sudden I started it and it sounds very odd, a very tinnie sound, no rev, has no power and the tach is erratic.

Where to start? Coil, ignitor, cam sensor?

Was running great. Put just at 1500 miles after Tb, wp all that stuff.

Ignitors/coils are popular to cause this on the SC's. Thats where I would start.

Since you say your tach is going crazy im gonna say look at what controls that. Reason i say is because like on my sc300 setup the tach is controlled by a wire from the igniter. which also controls my ignition coils. Someone else will likely be able to chime in regarding the tach signal in an sc400 but thats what came to mind instantly for me. good luck

check the wires on the front of the motor by the belts that go to the cam sensors for tears or rips.
most common is one of the coilpacks, but irratic rpm's makes me think more the cam sensors or wiring, or even a bad ignitor although the bad ignitor is less common.

Usually when the SC goes sporadic like this one did, I assume it's the coils because they often go out on the SC. Glad to hear you got it fixed. BTW, I might see ya around town one of these times...

In NM that is...they're extremely abundant in Phoenix and Houston.
