1JZ-GTE Toyota Soarer No Start
Started my 1JZ-GTE Toyota Soarer yesterday and got the Japanese error message on the dash that means "Engine electrical system" i was going around the corner so i thought i could check it when i got back but i was wrong. The car made it around the corner and sputtered and died.
Got it towed home and ran the diagnostics and got "EFI NG 14 (Ignition Signal)". I pulled the spark plugs and coilpacks and cranked the engine and got no spark. Grabbed the multimeter and checked if i was getting power to the coilpack plugs and ignitor and had 12V to each orange and black power wire on the coil pack harness and ignitor. I also checked if i was getting 12V to all the injectors and had 12V at each wire there too. Getting really confused i check to see if i could use the diagnostic port to get the fuel pump to run using Fp and B+ and heard it turn on and stay on.
Now im lost and have no idea what i should try next. Any ideas?

do you have an alarm, that or coilpack connectors is where I would start its an ignition issue.
just did a quick search on google for EFI NG 14 (Ignition Signal)

tested the coilpack connectors and they all read 12V. I pulled the crank angle sensor and tested for resistance and that was also in spec. check to see if the 12 toothed gear behind the crank gear was freely spinning and that wasn't the case it was tight and moving like it should

its not about mileage its about age, and you have to actually remove the blue boots to see the cracks at the very bottom lip of the coil that is normally covered by the boot. also the connectors are known to give issues especially if they have broken tabs at the top.
the IGN code is tripped typically when the ecu does not get an IGF signal from the ignitor , which happens when an ignition event does not occur several times in a row. if you can pull your coilpack connectors off without pushing on the tabs, that means they are broken and likely loose enough to cause issues.
I would start shaking those coil wires and see if you can get it to come and go away, try not to shock yourself though.
