Question Take a look at my spark plug and let me know what you think.

Hello CL. I pulled my #5 spark plug to see how it looks and it looks like I am running pretty damn lean. I do not know why it looks red on one side though, that's why I made this thread. I heard fuel additives could cause the red color? I did put some fuel injector cleaner in my tank recently.

The spark plug is a NGK Iridium BKR5EIX with 12k miles on it. What do you think?

Aside from the red the plug looks fine. The iridiums can take a beating and last a while. See if the red comes off from wiping or if its burnt, was your additive red it could have stained it seeing as its only on one side.

By the picture it doesnt. Usually the tip is real white, when it should be a concern.

If you put fuel injector cleaner in you tank recently, that is where the red color came from. You can clean the plugs and throw them back in.
