ebay timing belt kit
just wanted to touch on this real quick, a couple weeks ago I was somewhat financially forced to go this route. So far so good, I will need more time to tell but it certainly isn't junk. In fact, the water pump that came with it had metal blades as opposed to the one that my mechanic took out which was plastic. I'm assuming that was the original one.
so for $135 shipped it came with everything. Belt, pump, tensioners, all seals ect... even though I will need to have more time with the belt and the parts to see their longevity, I just wanted to let anyone else out there know that it's not necessarily the worst thing in the world to go that route if you have problems financially. my guy did the labor for $400, so $535 for ALL that to be done. Not bad.
just something to keep in mind, I was pretty hesitant when I bought it but I'm really happy now.
Just my .02

Your heart is likely in a good place but that is way premature advise (as you alluded to).
Any kit will get you up and running but those are 100k+ parts. That post would be on point at 80k.
I say never take a chance on parts that are that pricy to get to. Especially with the newer VVTI MOTORS.
I just had to navigate the same dilemma on the same parts. Some of the members convinced me to go OEM as i can. Especially on the belt.
Thank You for posting.

No prob. Not advising over original, just if money is tight it's hard to shell out an extra 250 plus dollars for original parts.. without even knowing if that's your actual problem. that's kind of where I was at.
Vvti tru, my motor is non interference tho. 1995.
still don't know why the original pump and plastic blades and the cheap ebay one had metal ones. but yeah you guys have the money go for original why not, and if that's the case you can also bring your car to the dealership and have be charged 1600 for parts and for the labor too.
I get what you are saying tho, if any of those components fail I'm sure you'll see another massive thread by me on here. Lol so we'll see.!

You could also gather the parts yourself and take it to a shop like I did. Got all genuine parts.
I trust genuine parts to death. My Corolla, I used an aftermarket timing belt... I forgot what brand but it was a well heard of brand, ACDelco, Gates, Dayco, something like that. Failed after 40k, it dry rotted quick, split, and snapped apart.
Parts other than genuine are great for tight financial situations but it could be a temporary fix. Not always, could be. Some aftermarket parts can last long.
I'm not going wrong on my Lexus. If I have the money, it's getting genuine parts. The only thing I've recently installed not entirely genuine is the reman'd alternator. That's because I'm not paying $400 for an alternator.

All I can say is good luck to you my friend, I wasted money on one of these kits for my sc400 and the water pump locked up and completely quit turning after oh roughly 2000 miles. Prior to this I have used other eBay timing belt kits for other vehicles but I've sold all those right after install so I have no clue as to their longevity. Point being cheap parts are really always hit or miss, your definitely rolling the dice on these.

What about a kit like this one? It lists all the part numbers, I just cannot confirm if they are the correct ones...
