Thumbs down 1993 lexus sc300 mpg ?! Awful help !

Hey guys, so I have a intake system and 19" rims that don't weigh too much ?

So I've been conducting tests on my mpg. I don't have a heavy foot and go the speed limit

From a full tank to half tank I only got 106 miles ?
Any help ? Thanks

saying u get 106 miles from a full tank to half a tank on a gauge is pretty much meaningless.

you said the word MPG in the title yet you never reference it in your post. go calculate your actual Miles Per Gallon by filling up your tank and resetting your trip meter, and then after driving for x amount of miles, fill up again and divide the number of miles you drove by the gallons you put in. This tells you what the MPG is.

Now on a nicer note, the SC300s don't get great gas mileage, they are 3500lb beasts with a 3 liter motor that has its work cut out for moving it around. Here is the EPA rating 16/21:

Is your check engine light on?

I'd check to se if your wheels spin freely. Calipers might be sticking.

BTW, Lexus gas gauges break sometimes...jus' sayin...

check engine codes if there is a code for an o2 sensor, a fault o2 sensor or some other codes will make the engine run rich. You might also be driving around the city mostly? or do you get on the highway too? City gas mileage is very debatable but if you can check what your mileage is on the highway (fill up and drive 100 miles on the highway and fill up again) then you'd have a better idea of the actual condition of the car/engine.

I took out my spare tire and other small things. Car does feel lighter and this time I got 107 miles to half tank. :/ this sucks

Is it possible your odometer counts slow? I had a 240SX that the odometer was literally 1 odo mile= 1.8 mi actual traveled. I used mile markers to confirm. I mean the 2J is a thirsty motor, but not that thirsty! My Supra gets like 16-18MPG on a good day (mixed). Haven't driven my SC in a while (and I am NA-T) but it was not as bad as yours

It seems correct bro, I work about 5.6 miles away and that's about accurate. I look at my miles and fuel when I'm driving. I knew the sc drinks fuel but damn I didn't think this bad. Even before when I got wheels it wasn't that good. To my knowledge when I had stock tires and wheels I did 138 miles from full tank to 1/4 tank

thats some pretty bad mileage you are having, if you had a turbo it would make more sense but that is pretty bad for n/a.
how many miles on the car and have you ever changed the o2 sensors.
once they stop working you never really enter closed loop and it runs rich all the time.
does your exhaust smell kind of rich? it could explain 11mpg if you have no check engine light, they rarely come on for bad o2 sensors on these cars.
