Things to replace during tranny swap
Hey guys, so just picked up an auto with about 60k on it for 100 bucks.
I plan on doing
-Lextreme torque converter
-Transgo shift kit
-Solenoids
My question is what else should i replace while im in there? ill have a buddy more versed in transmissions helping. But im thinking maybe just replace the input/output and torque converter seals? all are pretty cheap and though im sure they are fine on a 60k mile trans peace of mind is priceless.
Are those seals easy to replace? like pop in and go?
Any other suggestions?

Maybe put some Super Pro differential bushings while your at it.

Your going to need a Trans pan gasket for your A340. I would get one from Red Alto.
Maybe do the 4th solenoid mod on a switch.
If you're going for more power than 340whp, Get a billet 2nd gear sprag from ATF

Also Lextreme has been slow to fulfill orders if you haven't already received your converter yet. He will fulfill the order but it will take some time. Expect 2-3 weeks before you even get a response from him. Apparently orders have been really slow from what I read on the Lextreme forums recently. There are other Torque converter companies that will do the work immediately if you don't want to wait. It's possible that you will get it quick but from what I read on the forums recently it's been slow.
Later down the line Red Alto HD rebuild kit with stronger clutches. And ATF's billet forward piston. Your transmission will be good for 500-600whp with the Lextreme torque converter holding you back. With a stronger built torque converter then you can do 800-1000whp. This is all my long long term plans with the a340 haha!
If you haven't changed the Trans filter I would do that as well. You can clean the stock one but might as well change it. Get an ATP trans filter or something similar.
Make sure to put a Trans cooler because you have the high stall torque converter. I'm using the B&M Transmission Cooler 70264. It's mounted on the bottom right side of my front bumper. A lot of space there for a trans cooler, fits perfect.
Toyota TIV transmssion fluid and some synthetic differential fluid. I'm putting in some 75w90 Motul 300 Gear oil (non-lsd type for my torsen. The open diff would be same type of fluid).
