Default How hard is it to install Rack/Pinion and Tie End Rods?

After replacing my pump today and finding out my old pump was fine I'm in a bit of a dilemma. Replacing the Rack and Pinion seems to be the next player up at bat, but while I'm at it should I replace the Tie Rod Ends as well?

My brother is my mechanic and I wan't to make the work as easy on him as possible as the lift he uses is his friends and frequently busy. I don't want him to replace this only to find out new tie rod ends are needed too, and I want the install to go as smoothly as possible.

I read around and rack and pinion takes about 3 hours to install, is this correct? Would new Tie Rod Ends make this process easier or harder? I'm going on 8 weeks without power steering over here and it's driving me nuts. I just want to get to the point where I can start fixing interior defects, and adding a new audio system, but it's taking forever and a day. Need new wheels, and rear brakes as well.

Oh yea my car is 92 SC 400 automatic, I plan to get the parts off Rock Auto, the A1 Cardone Complete Rack and Pinion kit with inner rods, and Deeza outer rods.
