I was looking online for mufflers for my sc4 and the deleted resonators and muffler setup that I have is jus too loud. I came across some mufflers from M2 performance for $260 dollars. I previously owned a GS400 where I had M2s cat-back setup and it sounded great. I was wondering if anyone has these mufflers for the SC on their cars? If so, what is ur opinion on the quality and sound?

Although I don't know about the m2 mufflers, they look similar to the topspeed mufflers. I personally have them on my sc300 and I really like the sound of 'em.

I have these on my SC300. I bought them a couple of months ago. Quality is very good and the sound, especially for an NA inline-six is very good. They would do very well on a V8 SC. They aren't too loud but they are aggressive enough to notice you have a muscle car. They are probably considered "quiet" by a lot of folks in the car scene but that is a good thing. Better sound than Borla, from what I could discern in videos. Also, I looked into Magnaflows and thought these were better for sound alone and being NA, that's all I was looking for.

There is a youtube video of a GS300 with M2's that will give you a good idea. I'm sure there are a couple of SC400's with M2's on youtube as well. These don't make your car sound obnoxious. They just make it sound aggressive, as if it should have come this way from Lexus originally. The rear pipes look good, too-- not overly huge.

Bottom line, I recommend them for a simple axle-back upgrade. I am happy with them and haven't looked back.

Thanks for that kahnBB6. Im still considering getting those or top speed. My resonators r deleted so, im sure ill get a nice muscle tone from it as well.

Hey, since you guys are on the subject, will this system add any performance to my '98 sc400 or is it just a change in sound ? I've searched numerous threads about axle backs and no one seems to mention whether they felt any gains or not, they just talk about the sound levels.. Sorry to hijack, but you guys may be the closest I can get to the answer I'm seeking, thanks in advance !

Just for sound, it's not going to do almost anything performance wise with a sc300 or sc400

^^ This. It's for sound but the quality is very good and the decibels aren't obnoxious. I am certain they don't do anything power-wise for an SC300's engine (unless 5hp max is noticeable to you) but you may get some very minor increase with your '98's VVT-i V8. Generally just for sound. You'd need to delete cats and get into custom headers and cams (V8) for more power.

I have these on my car but also deleted the two rear resonators and there is a noticeable difference in performance and fuel economy. It is a bit louder than I would like inside the car when you're accelerating off the line, but it sounds nice.
Just find a good muffler shop and start with removing your two rear resonators are these are were most the restriction in your exhaust is. It will make a very subtle difference in sound, but a bigger difference in power delivery and fuel econ. I average an extra 2mpg and definitely feel a boost to midrange torque which makes it very nice driving around the city and for passing. Went from filling up at 320-350 mile mark to 395 miles on this last fill.

A straight through muffler will give you 2-3 hp with air flowing slightly more. Nothing noticeable...my guess is the sound makes people think they are feeling the exhaust. Also I'm fairly certain the sc400 will sound like the gs4 as its the same motor

The GS4 and the SC4 shud sound exactly the same. Only difference was the GS4 had the can-style mufflers while the Sc4 has the oval-style mufflers. Idk if that will change the sound or not. But they shud sound very similar

Dougspeed, do you mean I should have the resonators removed in addition to getting the muffler set up or will just deleting the resonators and leaving the stock mufflers in place give the performance/mpg increase ?

... let's not forget how heavy the stock mufflers are. I would wager the new aftermarket ones would save you around 20-30 pounds on the pair, and that can equal around 3 whp gained roughly...
