Default Soarer R154 questions

I'm trying to remove the rear part of the transmission casing (where the shifter sits and the driveshaft connects to).
I have a crack on the casing there and wanted to take it off to get it welded inside and out.

My question: Is the removal of that rear section similar to the mk3 r154?

Isthis remote shifter or internal.
If internal remove detent ball on passenger side with torx driver and the 10 14mm bolts for the sandwich plate

If it's the internal shifter, then yes it's the same.

Here is where I found the info to take it apart.
It's listed under manual transmissions on that link. Just remember the R154 is the second trans in the manual.
