Default The Manual SC400 Swap, SMOG

I have been reading and searching a lot, and I am seeing a number of people say that it isnt CA smog legal, which blows, this shouldn't effect smogging, which will be something to put a complete hault on my interest in the SC400, and leaving my interest at a mild with the SC300.

My question is, what about finding a smog station that would overlook the transmission, or just not know?
If not I believe so much in the SC400 manual that I am interested in getting to the bottom of this ridiculous rule. Contacting the BAR and talking to some people higher in the ranks.

I dont get it, I can swap in an engine from a completely different car but not a transmission that is from the same Chassis family?

is there ANYONE with a Manual SC400 in California that has been able to sneak past this? (possibly registering the car in another state)

So then I wonder, is the manual swap legal or not?
