Which Spark Plugs should I get for my SC300?
Hello All!
I am looking to change the spark plugs on my 94 SC300. It currently has 129,000 actual miles and still purrs like a kitten, but I'd like to change the plugs before there's a problem. My question is simply if I should go with the stock plugs, which I believe are NGKs, or should I upgrade to some Pulstar Iridium Pulse plugs. I am not sure if making this change will A) be harmful or B) make a difference, or if the computers are set to only accept what a stock plug will give. If I make the change to Pulstars, will I see any difference in horsepower, fuel economy or any other benefits? Thanks, you all!

Don't bother with Platinums on the 2jz, its not worth it.
Spring for Iridium or just use coppers, I always always use NGK.
If you have the stock intake I strongly recommend the Iridiums not only do they fire better they will last much much longer and you don't want to be changing plugs all the time. If you have a gte you already know what to do.
stock sc300: BKR5E-11 (copper: stock ge plugs) or BKR5EIX-11 (Iridium *recommended)
stock gte or na-t (up to 1 bar) : BKR6E-11 (copper: stock gte plugs) or BKR6EIX-11 (Iridium *recommended)
BPU gte or na-t (1-1.5 bar) : BKR7E (copper) or BKR7EIX (Iridium *recommended)
APU gte or na-t (1.5 bar +) : BKR8E (copper) or BKR8EIX (Iridium *recommended)
Depending on your ignition system you might want the -11 or non -11 version of the plugs above. all the plugs are available in both types.
the ones with the -11 come with more pregap. If you are going to gap them down I think the ones without the 11 is what you want they are usually .032
