Default Leaking R154.... Help diagnose please!

So last night after a few hard runs I get this weird odor and notice that my R154 is leaking.
My first thought was that it was leaking from the rear tail shaft seal aka rear output shaft seal where the drive shaft meets the tranny.

Well come to find out that is not where its leaking from, at least from the looks because the u-joint there is dry.

It looks like it seems to be leaking from the side of the transmission. Looks like it favors the driver side more due to the fact that, that side is more wet.

Help me trace down this leak!

Thanks in advanced,

Lee

Edit: I have a soarer R154 with the tripod

I have the same tranny. After the first intial install, I smelled tranny fluid for almost 2 months. I thought the installer had installed too much fluid and it caused the fluid to seep out of the pop off valve on top and go on the exhaust, thus causing the smell. Is this a possibility?

For it be leaking out of the breather valve means it would have to have like 10 qts of oil in there. So i kinda doubt tthat. There is an input shaft seal, rtv gasket around the sandwich plate, crush washers for fill and drain plugs and also a gasket for the speed sensor.

It wasn't over filled, unbolted the drain bolt and let it sit flush on a flat surface and let the fluid drain out. cleaned everything up, went and drove around and still leaking fluid.

Seems as if its almost leaking from up top.
