Default 97SC plz hlp

Hey guys I've been dealing with this problem since the end of summer with no luck. So I have this noise coming from what sounds like the right side of the engine bay if I'm in the driver seat. Mostly when it's cold & gets worse when driving uphill, sounds like a rattle or a bad bearing. It happens when it's warm too but less. It does not seem to affect performance. Also if I floor it or let off the gas I can get it to stop. It doesn't really sound like its coming internally from the motor but maybe some place along the serpentine route. Today after my gf drive it all day yesterday, (she never tries to stop the noise by letting off or gassing thru) the noise seems worse. I recently replaced my alternator along with the bearings inside, and my tensioner bearing after it failed. I've also noticed my AC compressor clutch seems to be locked. And I'm getting code 14 for coolant temp. Sensor from the AC self diag. One other problem I have is an oil leak from the very top gasket under intake that's spitting oil on my distributor cap. Which I just noticed today. Any suggestions on any of this? My main concern is the noise.

Are you using 93 octane fuel? If not, the knocking noise could be coming from the cheap gas you are using. If so, fill it up next time and it should go away. Not sure about your oil leak and AC.

Posting this in the maintanence area may help get you more answers, also post if you have an sc300 or sc400 to get better respones.

As for your rattling sound it could be a lot of different things, try posting a sound clip if you can of what it sounds like to get more help on that. From a quick analysis it sounds like it starts to make this sound when the engine is under more strain. Does this sound progressively get worse as you rev the car higher?

As for the AC, the compressor may need to be replaced or rebuilt (search the forum for ac compressor information regarding this)

With the oil leak a picture to show us would make it easier to diagnose. A guess could be a bad gasket or crack. (this may also be whats causing your initial sound problem).

it might be your crank pulley harmonic balancer coming apart. Take a look at that because its a common problem.
