So its sit and spend 2gs slowly or just get it done and buy a whole new setup 1jz or 2jz that is the question hmmmm

My SC was/is exactly like that, all car's are money pit's man, no car you buy will NOT break. So hang in there and you will be glad you did.

I almost sold my 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass due to an issue I could not overcome, but another forum helped me get it pinned down.

Anyway, I would replace the TPS first, or try calibrating it, setting it to spec. (You need an ohmmeter and some tools). This is most likely an easy issue to overcome, for a Lexus.
