Default Intermittent Power Loss.

So my car has this very random problem of losing power. For the first month it would only last like a second and would would usually only occur when the car was warm. I would be driving on the highway and i would notice my rpm drop to zero for a second and then pick back up. In the past two weeks however, I would experience loss of power for a few minutes. This happened shortly after starting the car before it warmed up. It would idle at near zero rpm but would not stall. I could accelerate if i had to but it would be super slow. I was once forced the drive home on the highway like this. I managed to get it to about 60mph on the highway, I was in second gear at about 1500 rpm. For a second my power would return to normal and would increase to about 4000 rpm very quickly but would then immediately drop back down. When I started the car again a few hours later it was fine again.

First thing Im going to replace tomorrow is my TPS. I have a nissan tps and I know they are prone to failure. Gonna throw on my toyota one and hope that fixes it. If that dosent help the next thing Im going to try is coolant sensor.

by the way im turbo'd on aem. When the problem occured I didn't have have any dash warning lights.

Well I changed out the TPS and at the same time I found an exposed wire going to my map sensor. I put shrink tube on the wire and haven't had an issue with.

Since I switched out my tps my idle has been bouncing around the place and has been stalling. I had a problem like this a while back and it was a vacuum leak before. I cant find a leak this time so im guessing it must be the tps. Does anyone know if I can manually calibrate the TPS without having to do adjustments on my AEM?

if you move the tps , it will affect your fueling map , you MUST re sync the tps with the aem .. its a very simple process

Yep, re sync the TPS. The problem you could of had in the first place was the TPS not being set correctly with the aem. (requires adjustments, doesn't it?) You need to set the TPS back to spec. When the TPS is in spec, then other broken things could show their faces...GL!
