Default best bolt on turbo kit for 2jz-ge?

Hey CL,
I was wondering your opinions on what the best best bolt on turbo kit for the 2jz-ge? I would like to install one on my 1996 sc300 my budget is about $2000. my car is 100%stock so keep that in mind with the budget, like if i need to buy new sparkplug wires or head gasket add that to the budget too. I don't know a lot about turbos and what they need besides what comes from the kit. help me if you know! thanks

Usually a kit will come with a manifold, turbo, wastegate, downpipe, oil lines, intake pipe, and maybe an intercooler. You'll also need a BOV, some kind of engine management with a good tune at the very least. If you plan on running more than 5 or 6 lbs of boost, you'll need a headgasket, injectors, fuel pump, clutch, tires, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. I think people usually put around 3-4 grand into a budget kit, and a few grand more if you plan on making bigger numbers.

well for your budget my opinion is....

xs power t61 (1400 new or find used)
gte ecu+ coils 5-600 bucks
IC piping 200 bucks.
Boost gauge 30
Manual boost controller 100 bucks.
wideband gauge 150
Fuel pump 100
new plugs 30$
so for around 2500 bucks you could have a REALISTIC up and running daily driveable na-t, keep it regulated at 5-8 psi until you can take it a bit further with engine management and more boost.

the GTE ECU + coils i imagine need some significant modifications to the stock wiring harness? With the price of AEM V1's these days I say save up for one and get a solid tune so the car is enjoyable and you don't run into any issues.
