Default My Headache for the last 2 weeks!

Hey guys

I've been having some problems w/my SC (92 Sc300) it will constantely shake/almost die when i'm at a stop/idle. I was on the way to school this morning and it died on me check engine light came on oil light and batttery light came on as well. I started it back up and it was a little hesitinate to start but eventually did, then it died 3 more times. I pulled over and let it sit for a min and it started up and I got to school. I'm noticing it a lot more after i've been driving for a while and the car's been warmed up or during traffic. I did do a code check and the check engine light blinked constantley w/no pauses and the overdrive light was blinking as well.

What I think it could be:

1. Fuel Pump
2. Fuel Pump ECU
3. ECU
4.MAF
5. Idle air control moduele

This has been going on for two weeks now and i've had the car in at a shop and of course it runs fine when they look at it.

Any ideas/comements would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

-Nick

What did the codes say? It could be any of the things you mentioned as well as the ECU, vacuum leak, and maybe even TPS. I would also dump a container of injector cleaner into the tank, never know..BTW, almost any car anybody get's will be a headache. whether it's a tempo or veryon...

sounds like it could be the main ecu.
fuel pump and fuel pump ecu would be more of a constant problem not very intermittent, at least not for long.
IACV would be a constant problem.
It could be the maf, but I would expect it to run rough all the time then and probably throw a code usually if not the maf code a lean or rich code or o2 code.

sure way to check the ecu is to swap with a known good one, or pop it open and have a look around inside.

thanks for the input guys, helped me narrow it down a little more. Also does anyone think it could be the cap and rotor along w/an ignition coil? My dad and I are going to put a new cap and rotor on tonight will see what happens

It's free to check it out. Do the Fuel Pump ECU bypass mod. I had issues similar to yours and it only took 15 minutes to fix by doing the bypass.

Even if it's not the fuel pump ecu you just saved yourself trouble in the future from it breaking on you.

Do the fuel bypass mod. Its free and can be undone if it doesnt fix the problem.
