Red face OReilly Global Auto Trans Fluid??

Just put in 4 quarts of OReilly Global Trans Fluid after dropping the pan and replacing the filter in my SC 400...It claims to meet all requirements for Type T fluid in the Lexus. Anyone had any problems using the stuff?

No way I would a "universal" trans fluid in the sc400 trans maybe an sc300 but for sure not the 400.
It's not worth losing a trans over a cheaper fluid.

I understand how you feel, wish now I would have put the Toyota fluid in just for peace of mind...But has anyone actually used this stuff?

Here is the problem with non oem fluid, You must have the proper friction modifers that ONLY the oem fluid contains and to date nobody has come up with a suitable replacement which is why anybody who knows these transmissions only uses oem t-iv so you are risking the life of your transmission and shortening the life by a great deal.

Just change it oem t-iv and you will be fine for years to come it's not really more expensive at your local Toyota dealer and to be honest people most likely have never tried it because it's common knowledge in the Toyota/lexus community that you never should try to break away from this.

When it comes to transmission fluid, OEM fluid is the best way to go. After 170K miles of OEM T-IV being used in my transmission, it shifts so smoothly that it still feels like a new transmission.
