Well the project has been in the works for quite awhile now. I always wanted a Supra but somehow convinced myself this would be much more amusing. I found a 2000 SC300 in Angora Beige Metallic and had it shipped to me. The goal was the create what I felt the SC should have been like from the beginning. So I decided on a VVTI GTE swap. And long story short, now it is complete and quite a sleeper....

Aristo Motor
Aristo ECU
Aristo Transmission
Transmission Cooler
Front Mount Intercooler
3" Intake
3" Downpipe
Full AC

Everything else was left stock. Nothing was changed on the interior or the exterior of the car. I am actually running the stock mufflers. All of the piping was painted black so that there would be very little chance of anyone actually noticing the FMIC. The only flashing light is for the TRAC which I believe is due to the ECU not finding the TRAC/ABS/VSC ECU from the Aristo. Car is running fantastic. Cranks right up and is averaging 31.5mpg at 80mph at 3000rpm. I think it runs that high at 80mph due to the 4.27 stock diff. I will be changing that shortly, just wanted to have a running car. I will take some pictures later, the only ones I have now are on my phone and cannot upload those. I just wanted to post a thread to show that the VVTI swaps are pretty awesome (all GTE swaps are awesome). Oh yeah, that speed limiter is really annoying.

I said the same thing. I only got 20 with the AC on the whole way, all interstate for the most part. Got into boost three times until third and let out of it...

You dont see many GTE swaps in those late model SC's. How was the elecrtical? I've always assumed swapping a GTE into my '99 (when it dies) would be an electrical nightmare due to all the upgrades the new models came with.

im actually in the process on doing the same setup. i have a 2jzgte vvti aristo swap that im putting in my 2000 sc300. any suggestions before this build begins? what did you do as far as wiring?

The MPG rating was based on what the dash told me. I have not done an actual calculation based on amount of gas put in and mileage. With more city driving on it, the average has dropped to 27.4 MPG. I will keep watching it but even on the interstate it hovers around 30 MPG. Please forgive me for lack of pics, we are expecting our first in like 9 days, so that has been my priority as of late. I had a shop do the swap for me including electrical. I did work fairly close with them to research some issues. The only real hiccups were with getting the A/C to function properly, the fuel pump ecu to function properly, and TRAC/ABS/VSC. The A/C had have two relays put in to get it to kickon, similar to the GS process. The fuel pump also has a relay. The TRAC/ABS/VSC is an ECU issue. The Aristo ECU looks for the proper Aristo TRAC ECU which I do not have. Once I have one and can wire it in, it should work properly. There are some growing pains when matching transmission, rear end, and getting everything else to fit. The upper radiator hose comes close to the fan blade due to the VVTI gear. I would like to find something to protect it. I would just research as much as you can before you start the swap to get it all mapped out. If you have any questions I can attempt to answer them based on my project.

thanks for all the info, so you are saying all the stuff is working ok except for the trac on the aristo vvti ecu?
definately sounds fixable alot of members have been wondering lately if the aristo vvti ecu will play nice with our odb2, did you have to do anything special or just the things you have mentioned. I know about the a/c issue.

OBD2 port will not work!

You need a vvti upper water pipe , it's different from the regular gte non vvti pipe or hose.

I think there is a way to make it work quicksc4, are you sure cause I really want to figure it out.
If it wasn't working he should definitely get a light for it. OP do you have a scan gauge you can try on it.

As in it will not communicate with the OB2 Scanner? Or can I get a JOBD Scanner and it will communicate? Or is the plug essentially dead now? I do not have any emissions to meet in my state, so I never really worried about that. I do want to get a JOBD Scanner or some aftermarket unit to monitor the motor. Something like a Blitz Touch Brain
