Default Alternator FIRE, Distributor O-Ring Leak (Pics) :(

Leaky o ring on distributor equals alternator fire and some wires and connectors burnt. :
Here's what happened....
Pulled into BP gas-station to fill up. While the car is off I see white smoke coming from the front, I stop pumping gas, turn the car on, (not the smartest move, but wanted to get it out the station) pulled into a hydrant spot on the street and popped the hood.. Flames came @ me and I ran to the trunk and grabbed the antifreeze and poured it on. Fire went out pretty fast but I still heard this hissing nose. (So my brain when into attack mode) I thought to myself battery!! Grabbed my multitool from my belt and pulled the positive cable off and the hissing stopped. Luckily I did this..I'm guessing when the fire started it fried the wire housings/covers and the wires was exposed and touching.

Now I have to fix this mess I started because of my lazy actions n not getting a new O-Ring seal..

Sooo alternator has a warranty, can pick up an a new seal, and now I have to hit the junk yard or give Gazi a call n get some new harnesses arrrrrrr. I just payed a few bills too.
and broke.

Will take a picture in a few of the damage.. Everything just happen so fast and I had to come home to walk my dog. Lol

**update.. Second photo is a wire connector I was able to get from a alternator repair shop. I was told by all the junk yard employees in my area that they toss all the wires in the hood of cars when the car is stripped..
So now I'm splicing these hard to get to wires and replacing the O-ring seal in the Distributor housing.

Autozone honored the warranty for the alternator..(Got that changed on my lunch break) as for the wires I called a few junk yards. I think I would feel alittle safer replacing the wires. Splicing the wires with my luck I'll have another fire. Lol

Junk yards don't keep wires. Unless the car was still there and I was there. @ the same moment to pull them out. So I was able to get the wires (part of it) from a alternator suppley shop and going to splice these suckers.

Default update..

Updating 2 years later...
Note... 80 amp alternator is a no no for this vehicle. Was wondering why my battery was always dying. Gave Lexus of Manhattan here in NY a call and they stated, 95 and above Sc300 should only use 100 amp alternators.. I called AutoZone corporate number and was treated like gold and was giving a local store to swap out the 80 amp for the 100 amp for the vehicle at no cost and keeping my lifetime warranty. .
Now to find out what is keeping this dash clock, radio and amp from turning off. Smh
