Default Have 2JZGTE now what need advice?!?!

OK I have a 95 SC300 5 speed.... I also have a complete 2JZGTE out of a 1995 Supra with 78k on it... Its a complete motor with the accessories and turbo etc.... But thats it, I don't have a complete wiring harness, no ECU just the complete motor.... Heres were I need help... I bought the motor because I got a GREAT deal on it to the tune of $650 shipped with a warranty and its US spec.... OK I was going to try to source the rest of the parts to put it my car BUT since I have now found this site I am starting to wonder what I shoud do with it... Should I just stick to the previous plan and source the rest of the stuff and put it in OR should I just use the short block put my head on it and install a turbo kit I need some insight... Let me know what you all think... This might have been discussed a million times and if so sorry but I am new... Thanks Tommy D

That is what I would do. Sell the other stuff - use that money to do the turbo, controls, tranny. Still gonna cost but possibly cheaper. You could go with a custom harness and standalone to solve the ecu problem and keep it all gte.

Good luck.

for the fmic of a supra, the driver side will work but the passenger side, it is a little off. With longer i/c pipe hose it might work. But if you are going to order a new i/c kit, you can order one for the JZZ30 and it is a direct bolt on but the coolant resorvior must be relocated.

Default FMIC

Like I said before 100 times I am really new to this Lexus Turbo thing BUT I was talking with one of my "suppliers" and he said he could get me a Blitz and a Greddy FMIC for a soarer of the same year as my car... Will that just bolt up?? or does other mods have to be done?? I understand there prob. are a few differences but seems like it would be really close... And its a good bit cheaper than a Supra TT FMIC of the same brand.. Thanks Tommy D

I just finished an SC with a GTE conversion and used one of the HKS S-Type FMIC kits for the Soarer JZZ30 and it fits perfect. The only slight mod would be on the driver side piping is to move the A/C line a bit. Most US cars, Even the Supra require a little finessing with the A/C lines. Hope that helps.

Default 2JZ conversion

If you've got the complete engine for $650... great deal... why not just find a US harness and ECU and install the baby! The Lexus already has a place for the IC, because of the Japanese Soarer... bolts right in. for more info: www.fly-hawaii.com/lexustt

Thats what I was thinking.. Does anyone have any idea where I can get the harness and ECU???? And or what I should be looking to pay??? I have saw the ECUs for anywhere from $250 to $600 but I have never seen a wiring harness... Anyone??

If you do the whole GTE with harness, you'll be that much better in the long run. You'll have access to cheaper turbo kits to replace the stock twin turbos.
