97 sc300 1jzgte swap info requested
Got rid of my IS or a 97 SC. Looking into a 1jz swap.
car is currently an auto...current trans is kind of noisy may need work(have not had it looked at) but pulls fine.
so newer trans may be in my benefit as well.
Is the 1jz AUTO trans same as 2jzge AUTO trans?
anyone give me a "ballpark" turnkey shop price for a 1jz AUTO swap and/or 5sp swap..
base tune..
located in Midwest..shop recommendations would also be appreciated.

Not jacking the thread, but im on the same boat. I'm located in Midwest too, just wondering where you are located? Did you find any service information on the 1JZ? Maybe we can help each other by sharing info. on the 1JZ?

oh you are going to get it done from a shop? I have no idea, depends from shop to shop and their hourly rate. You could ask them for an estimate for a better idea on what you are looking forward to. I will be doing my swap myself, its just extending wires for ecu if you get a soarer 1jz gte, really dont see why does anyone have to go to a shop for it.
