Check the codes if any. Then go from there. Clean the MAF, the IACV, and check the TPS. Also check for obvious vacuum leaks, clean the air filter or replace, check plugs, wires, cap and rotors. if all else fails do the fuel ecu mod, then try and repalce the ecu itself but first check for burnt resistors inside. Good luck

I agree with 1992lexus on this one, sounds like a dirty maf, dirty filter, or a decent vacuum leak to me.

i did the fuel mod a while back and today ima take the iacv apart to clean it up and ima go buy a k&n filter for the car.. cleaned my old one yesterday and car ran better didnt have that restricted power feel. im sure the iacv is caked with stuff cause its the original, this motor was sitting for a few before swap and my turbo leaks a little bit of oil like a thimbles worth out thru the compressor but it gets sucked in and gets ran thru the system. and ill do a vacuum check to day.. btw i have coil on plug, i have a 98 1jz-gte vvti engine.
Question.. what could be wrong with the tps??

another question id like to ask is how does the iac valve work because i found a picture of how its set up and the big hose that goes to the idle air intake buy its been closed off with a clamp and a rubber cap. can that be closed like that?
