Oh Crap - Won't start after oil change
1993 SC 400. Babied all her life
I can NOT believe this. I never have had a problem with this car.
I just finished changing the oil and filter. All Amsoil of course. Finished filling the crank case. Go to start up to check pressures and for leaks. And NOTHING. Would not start for anything. No attempt to turn over at all. Simply spun the motor with the starter.
Sounds like ti would be an electrical issue that was caused by my MINOR cleaning of dusty areas of the engine compartment. I checked areas where I cleaned and could not see anything loose.
Would a loose connection at the sensor on the oil filter prevent starting? I assume that is the oil pressure sensor.
Or how about at the large plug on the air intake. I did some cleaning there.
Thoughts ideas and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you in advance for helping me avoid a tow.

You mention large plug on intake was cleaned. If its the MAF sensor, you have a winner. Mass Air Flow sensor can only be cleaned by special solvent made for it. You cannot use break cleaner, grease cleaner, engine cleaner or anything else beside a specific product made for it.
By the way, if it is indeed the MAF sensor, you probably destroyed it.

As to the air flow sensor, I did not PULL it nor clean it per say. Simply wiped around it. I will reseat it and then look for the cam and crank sensors.
What ever it is, it is something VERY SMALL. I need to reseat everything that i might have touched or bumped.
I am trying to avoid calling the tow truck today. Keeping my fingers crosssed

you can disconnect your maf and start the car in limp mode. CEL will coem on but car will start. or you could have flooded the motor out. disconnect your injector resistor pack and cold crank the car.
