When I asked why they wanted to install a whole complete Throttle Motor ASSY for $1750, she said that the code "P0121" didn't mean the sensor itself was bad, but rather that what it was measuring was bad...

So now I'm totally confused...
they musta saw you coming...buy a sensor from a parts store, or if you want oem search online and swap it yourself. Or like someone else said find a mechanic who wont charge you the value of the car to replace the part.

Greetings!

Can you tell me what "Mitchell ON Demand" is? I like what you are saying, but I want to be sure we are on the same page.

Is this repair specifically for the code "P0121" ??? Does it specify exactly HOW to calibrate as well?

Thanks so much for taking the time to throw in your advise. I have seen many thoughts already and am not wanting to spend money on the wrong part...

thanks everyone!, I am trying to learn as much as possible before I do anything. I like to do it right the first time if possible... altho I usually mess something up..

Very true, but the car is worth a little more than $1750, but I get your point..

So, I really dug into the quote for the dealer, and the reason it costs so much, is because they quoted for a whole new throttle body assembly! that includes a new TPS, Lever assm, ACC sensor, motor assm, and TB!

Those lazy POS's can't even diagnose what the problem is, they just want to replace the entire system! What if the only problem is the TPS that costs $107 ! AMAAZING

I am so torqued! No wonder they are called the stealer !

yeah that sounds like the price for a whole vvti throttle body, that is usually what they do, replace in chunks.
just change the sensor out, or even a replacement vvti throttle body can be had for under a few hundred.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at...they were gonna try and take you for a ride since you don't know what the problem is and they can charge you to throw parts at it until it is fixed.
