Default How can I verify That a Transmission is an R154?

Is R154 stamped somewhere on it? What signs can I look for to identify it? Im looking to buy one and just wanted to be sure.

Left one is a r154. It's wider and heavy than a w58

the thicker steel plate holding to two halves together if i remember correctly. plus the bell housing pattern that bolts to tranny side is better. Look in my build thread for pics of the r154 and compare it.

easy was is to look at the transmission sandwich plate.
W58 has the torx screws on the drivers side/left side
R154 has the screws on the passenger side/right side.
goodluck,
Charley
