i trust all of Lucas' products and used this when my 400 had a tiny leak on my ps pump. it sealed the leak off temporarily to give me time to buy and install a new pump...but i wouldnt count on the sealant to provide a long term fix.

For $10 a bottle or at least that's what mine ran give it a try.

I picked up a 95 sc400 with a pump that was screaming and the kid that had it before me said it went through a bottle of PS fuild every week to 10 days.

I put the lucas in and checked it regularly for a couple of weeks and everything was good.

Had the car almost a year now and only had to put just one extra bottle of the lucas

Great product by me

Lucas is a good way to finish off your ps pump all the way.

That's problem number 1 right there.
Wrong fluid was used.
Check the service manual.

Do yourself a favor and save money in the long run. Fix the problem, don't throw a band aid on it. The power steering fluid is going to leak into your alternator and leave you stranded somewhere. Now you will be fixing the alternator and the power steering pump.

Buy a seal kit:

Repair the Pump:

Welcome to the wonderful world of SC ownership.

I tried it in my Subaru (SXV) too. Failed. Started leaking 2-3 times as much after I put it in.

yeah those things never work in the longrun, and only sometimes work temporarily.
I bought my truck full of off the shelf power steering fluid, and the pump was really noisy and never really gave me much power steering. I drained all the old ps fluid, filled her up with some synthetic ATF fluid, and after a noisy 2-3 days, i got my power steering back and the noises went away. If yours is leaking it may be beyond swapping out the fluids, as the seals may already have bit the dust, but those pumps are pretty resilient.
