Exclamation Gasket Brands for our sc400. Good or bad?

hey guys im fairly new member to CL. I bought a sc400 as a project car and im in the process of just replacing fluids and any leaks.

Any who im planning on replacing the following items soon. (valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, transmission oil pan gasket and the transmission strainer.)

i bought the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket for pretty cheap.

Valve cover gasket kit. $40.00 Brand was BECK/ARNLEY
Oil pan gasket . $10.00 Brand was FEL-PRO

Now getting to the point here.... are these gaskets good? In comparison to OEM gaskets? Should i buy a aftermarket transmission oil pan gasket and strainer?

Or should i just throw these gaskets away and order from Lexus dealer?

I use fel pro gaskets in just about everything and so far havent had a complaint, as for beck/arnley they are probably good too ive used their water pumps and a few other random things with no problems.

As far as the trans pan gasket and filter aftermarket is fine, Just make sure whatever fluid you use meet toyota type ivs specs. The trans filter is basically just a screen anyways

I would say ditch the oil pan gasket and just use silicone.

ive seen on threads people say you can use a special kind of sealant.

Is there a reason why its better? Can i use both the new gasket and a silicone?
