2JZ-GE Port & Polish

2JZ-GE Port & Polish
Has anyone done this (perhaps w/ a radius valve job also)?
If so, was it worth it, and what were the gains?
Secondly, if I do it, would it be beneficial at all when I plan to go turbo, or is it something I just shouldn't do in that case?

With port and polish, the engine will see an increase in the Volumetric Efficiency, that is moving air through the intake, into the combustion chamber and out the exhaust. A naturally aspirated engine won't ever hit 100% VE, but with the right combination of valves and head work including cams..I don't see why you can't see a 30-50 or even higher gain in horsepower. This effect should be greatly seen in a FI car. I definitely think that if you can get it done for the right price, you should do it, whether or not you're going to stay N/A or go turbo!

Well I have an engine shop (literally called: "The Engine Shop") right down the street from where I live.
I stopped by one time to check it out, and that's alllll they do is engine work. They were the one's who told me about the radius valve job, and port/polish, although I had a Lancer at the time. So I was wondering what the benefits would be on our cars, 'cus it didn't seem too bad; they gave me a ball park of around 800-1000 bucks. For a good increase in Hp, I'd pay that much, as long as it's still relevant when I go turbo.
I just don't wanna do something that later on will be pointless, or instead decrease the performance of the future mod (in this case a turbo).

Hondas hit 105-110% VE, so it is possible.
Would you be happy Spending $1000 for 10 hp to the ground? Not in the slightest.
This type of modding is only necessary when you are already at a high horsepower level and have done everything else under the sun.
Turbos just do more for less.
