What would anyone recommend is the best cheap oil to clean my 1JZGTE engine out, pick up all the crap and drain it out after 5 minutes? I will have my new turbo disconnected from the manifold so no worries there about thickness issues. I only will have a few minutes at a time to run it because I do not want a fire without any exhaust after the manifold connected.

I have heard people use diesel oil, but not too sure about this method. What if I just use a thick *** oil?

I have heard the same about the diesel oil. I havent done it from personal experience tho. I would try and use Seafoam bought at Wal-mart or parts store. Just read the directions on the can. I am using Amsoil 5w 20 racing oil for turbo applications. It cost me around 65 shipped to the door. I have a hook up on it. :-)

Use motor flush, fallow the directions on the bottle, it is at every auto parts store

I think 20 is too thin? Well for me anyway. Plus it gets very hot here in summer. What does seafoam do that motor flush oil does not or vice versa?

This is probably what I need. I guess they would have this in our auto stores somewhere. Effective?

I use it once a year in all the cars, it cleans everything out well.

Oh just noticed, it is an additive. I do not have oil in the engine. I need to fill it to clean it out and just want something cheap that will grab everything and drain. Something to fill it up to low at least. What if I put a really thick oil like a 60+?

Thick oil is not a good idea as the J motors are built with pretty fine tolerances and you could cause some premature bearing failure as the oil bypasss holes in the crank and bearings is pretty small as well as the cams. Just my 2 cents

That is true. So how about getting a simple 20w50 and running that for 5 - 10 minutes then draining it? I just want to get rid of all the s##t inside the engine if any before I connect the turbo oil lines.

This stuff is a detergent it breaks down all the oils, just get some cheep oil and put it in with the Engine Flush and idol for a few minutes to warm everything up. It breaks everything down, then drain it right away, and replace the filter.

Will probably get a cheap 2050 and some additive sometime before connecting the turbo. I think it is a good idea.

I would just buy a 30 w cheap oil go through start up let it reach temp turn off and drain immediately.
On a side note might I recommend you prime your turbo before you bolt it on and start the car up for the first time.

I have heard of the diesel fuel trick as well, but they have always beens used by old timers with older style domestic motors. I want to try this method as well, but am skeptical since newer motors have so many sensors.

Ima prime it with oil before turn on, just turn over without spark.
