Default oil change help

Ok im not sure if i really need to do the oil change every 3k miles or what? i was told if the oils not burnt then i can just add some more and it will be ok but then somebody said i have to change the filter too and now im not sure what to do. my engine has about 260k on it so im not sure if that means i have to change it more often or if that just means the oil filter wont make a difference?

Service manual says every 7500miles regardless of mileage of the car.

Are you kidding?

Please change your oil every 3,000-5,000 miles. If it looks dark, change it. It should be a golden color at all times. If it starts to get low on the dip stick between changes, please fill it up. Never let your oil get too low. 260,000 miles is pretty good, lets see if we can hit 300k

Mandatory Maintenance and check/clean/replace the air filter/box when needed.

With that many miles, i would check oil every 1000 miles. It better to change oil every 3-5 k miles, i always change mine at 3k.

The oil is life and the filter is the kidneys of the car and at 35-45$ for your car freedom. I change my oil in my girl every 1000 miles but I'm on E-85 (cheap insurance)

I really don't believe this became a thread No disrespect but would you cut your jugular vain and just sit there and bleed to death
