Default supra block w/ sc300 head?

i know very littly about engines, however, my jdm buddy is thinking we might be able to use the supra block w/ the sc's head (therefore, simplifying electronics and such) anybody have any comments?

Yes a Supra TT short block will bolt right in. Ask sc300turbo as he as in his car.

I believe there are a few things you have to change with the TT block. They are very minor. I thought the water pump was different--- a port on the top of the pump feeds the turbo? A couple other minor things, but not sure. Jeff does have the TT block and told me, but I forget. Certainly no reason NOT to do it if you're needing a shortblock. The advantages of the oil squirters and stouter rods far outweigh the minor nuissance of slightly different componentry.

oil squirters and stouter rods
That would be the reason... Oh one other thing... The pistons then give you the proper 8.5:1 compression ratio, you wouldn't have to get the fancy gasket.

All applicable to only forced induction... 500+rwhp.

No. He didn't say that. The GTE stock twins will not bolt to the GE/NA head. The exhaust ports in the head are different.

I thought all supra guys know that.
