I can't seem to take apart my LED spoiler light. I need to separate the clear red housing from the red backing which has the circuit board connected to it, but it's not budging. The black rubber plug on the back it just a rubber plug BTW.
Has anyone taken one of these specific lights apart?
It should just come apart. Use a razor blade around the edges to break any adhesive it has (if any...I can't remember).
Thanks , I was able to take it apart last night. That glue did not want to come off for me. I chipped a little bit of the red lens on the edges because of the razor blade. Now time to solder some new LEDs!
Got it all finished. I was able to source some LEDs. They are a little more orange in color, but once the red lens is on, they all look the same. I had to replace a few LEDs. The replacement LEDs are on the left side of the pictures.

Would you happen to know what Diode or what the writing on the top Diode is? I cant make it out in your pics......
I need a new one and not sure which Diode to get, mine was burnt but I tested the light and they all light up! Just need the diode.
I am glad you were able to fix your brake light. How were you able to determine and test the diode?
There are actual marking under it and the diode itself was blown. Im thinking because the previous owner before me used the wrong rear light bulbs it somehow blew the diode or there was something similar. Spoiler light still going strong after repair.
