yes it does,i actually took it apart again because it was an inch too far forward. The new setup will be even simpler, simply cut the stock shifter holder and put it down on posts, no S bracket needed like i welded up. Still have the weld the pivot to turn around though. i'll post more info once i get it working nicely

one side effect i did notice is that the shifter gates are slightly paralleogram instead of H pattern, gate 1 is closer to 3 than gate 2 is to 4. but that is barely noticeable.

EsTomax that looks pretty good! We have the same shifter placement issues in the e36 chassis with this engine and trans combo.

so this is what i ended up with and happy with. i forgot to take exact measurements before installing it again so i'll try to get some numbers. basically though i had to extend the u joint two inches from the sleeve that the spring pin attaches to the shifter input shaft.

I appreciate your efforts dude great idea, just needs a little finesse in the visual department. Other than that you've solved the ubiquitous "too long tranny" issue

sorry been putting off playing with the car for a bit, I took some measurements and they all ended up being right on inch marks. it is not super important to be down to the 1/16th accurate while making this, as the u joints allow lots of play. the materials can all be had at home depot too lol. 1/2 inch hollow steel rod and I think 1/2 inch square aluminum tubing.

remember if you have a 95-97 5 speed with the tripod shifter you already have the "6 speed tunnel" in your SC.

I just read up on this thread and I would like to add my input. Please feel free to review it, revise it, etc.

This is a running Bill of Materials needed for a CD008 or CD009 6 speed from z33 350z to 1uz sc400.
-CD009 Z33 Trans from 2005+ 350z/g35 $600-$1000
Keep factory engine/bellhousing mounting bolts!

-Collins trans adapter $300

-------OR---------
Auto Meter 5289 GPS Speedometer Interface Module $170

- 3 qrts Redline MT-85 fluid $60

SC430 Diff 3.266 Ratio $150-300

So you can definitely get it all done for under $4,000 including shipping/freight and odds/ends/bits/bobs/etc.
I would say closer to $3500 depending on the price of the transmission/slave/shifter.

Hoke shifter adapter/shift extension mod $200

http://hokeperformance.squarespace.c...-shifter-mount

http://hokeperformance.squarespace.c...ter-relocation

This should sort out all of your shifter issues without any of this wacky-wonky-welded-hoop-a-joop craziness.
