I took the ecu out and I see a little spot that looks like it saw some serious heat. I'm not a mechanic though so the ecu in my world is the metal box labelled engine control. I have no clue what the smaller box beside it controls and would appreciate any enlightenment offered. I attached a pic. I had a hard time focusing on a close up but hopefully you can see what caught my eye. Does this damage look catastrophic?
