Default what happens if i disconnected iacv on 92 sc300?

What will happen if i just plugged it off and disconnected the harness to it. What will it do? Will the check engine light stay on? Is it needed? I think mine is bad. The car idles at 1500 rpm. And won't go down. No vacuum leaks. I changed the tps.

Did you clean the tip of it and the area inside of the opening? also I dissassembled cleaned it and screwed it all the way in before i installed it. I took a couple starts but not my car idles fine and no more high cold idle or anything besides the occasional 500-600rpm idle.

Yup..I clean it and screwed it all the way in. That's when it idled really high. so I took it out and unscrewed it til it civered the port in the throttle body. Started it up and it idle solid at 600. But once i went to drive it around the idle hiked back up to 1500. It's like the valve is staying stuck open
