hi guys, im looking into changing the steering wheel on my 97 sc, i was really looking for a 99sc steering wheel but i cant find one in black.
i noticed that the gs300 wheel looks very similar and it also fits the sc and was wondering if anyone on CL has done the swap?
pics would be great also. and would also like to know what you guys think about this mod..

Yes you can swap. If its 02+ you will need an adapter to make the airbag work

Alanarias2, like 88 supramki said-yes you can perform the swap. I just completed the swap yesterday owth a wheel from a 2000 GS 300. There are lot of threads on this site regarding the subject, so get ready for posters telling you to use the search feature. Some will recommend that you purchase an adapter to make installation easier. I agree that it is probably the best installation option, but it isn't entirely necessary. I just crimped connections on my wires to facilitate easier removal/assembly , once I decide to pull the instrument cluster to add super white leds and repair my tach needle.

It's a straight forward upgrade and shouldn't take anymore than 30 mins. to an hour to complete. The "hardest" part was resetting the airbag light, but there is a thread for that also.
There are plenty of black ones available. Check ebay , craiglist, or the classified section on CL. As a last resort, there is always vinly/leather paint. You will definately notice the difference. Good luck

i just got pmd about a black 99 sc wheel hopefully i get that instead if not then im going with a gs wheel since ive seen a few cheap on ebay..
