sounds like you found a problem, either bad connection or if you bought a rebuilt maf it could be bad, those cheap ones are junk and work half of the time

well i just found out it does the same with or without maf being connected.its just horrible now.earlier it was smooth when i took of the maf sensor.but right now it just feels like its being plugged in.once you plug it in it makes no difference.

i took off driver side coil packs and car didnt start at all.plugged back in and did the same with the right hand side coil and car started but very laggy (which is what i would expect)is this telling me my drivers side coils are bad? then again its not that bad during cold start.gets worse when warm.

If you assume you have 1 bad one, when you pull one and the car doesnt start, that means that one was working. so when you pulled the passenger and the car started same as before, that indicates the passenger side is the problem, so that could mean you may have a bad passenger coil, or enough bad leads or plugs on those 4 cylinders.

When people don't list their engines at the start I always assume a GE, I should prob stop doing that.
1uz does not have the same pooling problem as the 2jzge. your plugs look ok, but the top looks a bit brownish and crispy, try and clean it off or install new plugs.
Mostly all 1uz my car was running great and now its rough threads is one of the coils or rotors.

the mesh part doesn't go bad but the sensor does, have you double checked your TPS settings?
