would a 01 i s 300 motor work on a 99 sc??

Question would a 01 i s 300 motor work on a 99 sc??

like it says i have a 99 sc 300 and i have a spare 01 i.s motor could i just pull the engine and tranny and bolt it up if not whats different and what would i need to do.also would the ecu and wire harness plug up to the i s motor?

I think tranny is different from sc and is, but I could be wrong.

The motor should bolt right in as far as I know.

yeah, but use the SC's computers, etc, because the trans is different (I think) and it might cause some funny business. But, it should bolt right in.

put engine in, use sc harness ecu sc trans drop in plug and play. done.. why r you swapping them? does one have 200k miles and one has like 10k?

Use the SC harness , ecu , trans and the rest of the stuff the trans is not the same .You have to change the motor motors because the IS300 uses some weird one. Swap the oil pan because all lexus and toyota rear wheel drive 4doors are front sump and all the rear wheel drive 2doors toyota and lexus are rear sump so you need to swap the complete oil pan setup.

Just use the long block only , and transfer the rest of the stuff .Tthe stuff may look the same but it's not !!

thks alot guy i really app it and ill let you know how it gose im swapping them because the motor has a bad head gasket and its to much of head ache to replace that so rather just pull the motor i have it just sitting here so i put it to use

Default update...

update the water pump from the sc is different then the i.s ,the one on the sc has four or so studs where it connets to the fan to cool the car. so i was ganna change the water pump on the i.s to the sc one for it could still connet to the fans.is there any thing eles that im ganna find??
