yeah changed all the seals when I did the swap. Its just weird cause the car runs good but the valve covers get so hot that you cant even put your finger on it for a second. Now where the pcv valve goes seems like the rubber gromet is starting to show sighns of oil.

Hi,saw this post and thought I'd add my 2 cents. I have just bought a Import ( I live in Australia) JDM 1994 Toyota Crown which has the 2JZ GE, and I too have this problem. I am about to do some trouble shooting and give the car a going over, new to the 2J's.

The valve covers get very hot, there is leaking out of the distributor cap (am about to replace the o ring), I am going to give the cooling system a going over (change the thermostat - flush and new radiator cap ) and see how that goes. Am also goin to have a look at getting a new PCV valve . Will let you know how I go, and will keep an eye on this post.
Cheers
