So I decided to turn to the 1jz I just need to know what is all needed to to get the engine running and working with the sc orignal guages. I already have the w58 5spd so I just need to knw what is the absolute must needs to get the 1jz running and drivable in my sc. Thank u for anybody that can help.

For starters the 1jz, reuse the bellhousing on your w58, need piggyback, ignitor, map sensor, wiring harness, boost controller (optional), 1jz ecu, extend the harness, misc fuel and vacuum lines. Just to name a few things. Do the tach jump resistor in the cluster. Its R109 I believe. GL. Look at my signature. I would also do the maintenance before putting in the motor as well while its out. What kind of piggy back do you suggest?

Apexi has been used a bunch. Depends on your budget. Can be found for reasonable price often on here

Piggyback is NOT needed. The OEM 1JZ ECU works fine. It's tuned very rich from the factory.

With 3" intercooler piping and a 1200cfm intercooler plus a 3" downpipe on stock twins, I was still 12.2 -12.5 AFR at WOT on a stock tune. Fuel cut was a different issue

While you do the swap, it would be wise to do timing belt, rear main seal, plugs, clutch, etc
You really don't NEED anything besides a complete 1JZ motor. Instrument cluster can be done for a few dollars worth of resistors and wiring as 1992Lexus mentioned.

ok so let me get this straight i just need to have and complete 1jzgte pretty much. solder a wire across the resistor r109 and get an igniter hopefully the motor already comes with a map sensor, replace my seals maybe water pump and other misc. But its pretty much bolt in and crank it? other then extending my harness is there anything else i have to wire up with the harness? and what about my power steering hoses do they bolt right up to the 1jzs?

Yes. The lines should bolt right to the power steering along with the AC compressor. If yours are good, I would just unbolt them from the motor without breaking the lines and then bolt back up once the motor is back in. No need to flush or recharge the AC. The 1jz use the same as your stock 300.

Pretty easy huh?

This is exactly why I swapped my old leaking rusty 2jzge, and for the money the 1jz can't be beat.

1jz, wiring harness, engine mount work, exhaust work, cluster work and you are there!

That's is correct. He can prolly reuse his 2jzge bottom end from his old setup. Thanks for sharing.

One of the harnesses has one combined plug vs two split plugs. It's entirely doable and has been done in the past with writeups I'm sure. Just search for it on here.
